Dr. Pam,

I've known you since 1990.  You're always willing to go the extra mile to help.  For example, five years ago, my precious Kodi, went from pancreatitis to chronic pancreatitis and liver failure.  The Vet that we used here in town, when we couldn't  travel to Bowie to see you, recommended that we put Kodi to sleep.  He said there was no hope.

It was just a couple of months until Christmas, we always go to Bowie for Christmas, and I always take which ever pets need medical attention to you.  I took Kodi to you and asked what we could do to help him.  He was very thin and yellow from the liver failure. You checked him and asked us to give you a few minutes.  You recommended a medication, we started using it immediately and within a couple of months Kodi had put some weight on and was no longer yellow.  To us, this was a miracle, we had our Kodi back.

No matter what I need, you are always there.  Even if it means meeting us on Christmas Day to take care of our little guys.  When I need medications or supplies, all I have to do is call you and you put them in the mail to me.  We've moved alot, and met some good Vets and some not so good Vets.  When I have no choice I will go to a Vet in the area where I live, but if I have a choice, I'm going 200 miles to you.  When I go to another Vet, they always know I will be consulting you before I do anything.

Last year, when Kodi had another bad pancreatitis attack, you had me to write down a medication that would help Kodi.  You told me to get the Vet here in town to fix it for me so that Kodi could go ahead and take it instead of having to wait.  The Vet here had never heard of this medication.  He ended up calling you to see what all you use this medication for.

That's what is so different about you, you think about the patient and what they need not only to make them well, but to also make their lives better.  I would have never had my Kodi as long as I did if you didn't do things that way.  You're not only the best Veterinarian I've ever met, you're the most compassionate and caring Veterinarian I've ever known.  No one can fully understand until they take their special baby to you and see the care you give them.  I'm more concerned about the Vet I use than I am about my own doctor.  I feel very blessed to have you, Dr. Pam, as my veterinarian.

Thanks K!!!

You know I can’t save them all, but I will try very hard each time.  Despite my best efforts, there is no way to predict the response to treatment, and no way to guarantee that your pet will recover from illness or injuries.  I will not give up until you are ready to say goodbye, and I will advise you if I see that the lingering is unfair to your animal friend.  As we both know, the truth is that I can do everything I can medically, and you can do everything right with home care, but the outcome rests in the Hands of the Great Physician.
