I treat 3 categories of patients:
1) furry family members - companion animals - dogs and cats, ferrets and rabbits;
2) birds (avian) - exotics (snakes, other reptiles, and fish) - pocket pets (hamsters, rats, hedgehogs); and
3) small ruminants - llamas, sheep, goats, and deer. I generally do not see horses and cattle.
I am an active member/participant in the TexasVets online discussion list with several hundred of my peers throughout the state. I take Continuing Education courses in all three of my practice areas --- canine/feline, exotic/reptile, and small ruminant --- often earning more than 50 hours credit per year. I have received state wide recognition from the Texas Veterinary Medical Association for my efforts to facilitate client understanding of changing vaccination protocols.
